What is Chakra Balancing?

Chakra Balancing is a type of healing based on the Indian belief system that the body houses seven main energy centers, or chakras, between the base of the spine and the top of the skull.  Each chakra, or energy wheel, relates to particular emotions, organs, and areas of the body. They are found at the crossroads where 21 different energy channels meet and are linked to our endocrine system, the part of our body that controls hormones and also our nervous system, a vast network of cells that carry information to our brains.

Energy blockages or imbalances in the chakras eventually result in emotional imbalance or physical illness or disease. Chakra balancing removes such blockages and balances the flow of energy, promoting health and wellbeing by enabling the mind, body and spirit to function as a whole. Stress, the inability to express emotions, an unhealthy diet, lack of exercise, exposure to pollution are just some of the things that can cause the chakras to become sluggish or blocked. Various approaches can be used to balance the chakras, including visualization, guided meditation, crystal, colour and sound.

What will happen during an appointment?

During a Chakra Balancing treatment cystals corresponding to the colour of the chakras are placed on one or more of the client's chakras. A guided visualisation may also be used during the treatment. Chakra Balancing treatments generally last for 30 minutes, although sometimes longer a treatment will be required depending on the individual need of the client. Your first appointment will usually last around 60 minutes as it will include a comprehensive consultation which will cover lifestyle, medication and medical history to establish your current state of health and determine how treatment will proceed. You may feel heat, cold or tingling sensations during the treatment.
